From Flag Day to Juneteenth, and Father’s Day to National Sewing Machine Day, it’s a month full of meaning—and the perfect time to celebrate through sewing. Whether you're stitching something special for Dad, honoring history, or simply enjoying time at your machine, we’ve got the fabrics, kits, and classes to fuel your creativity all month long.

Quilts of Valor - Sit & Sew

7 June - 1st Saturday Every Month

Join us on the first Saturday of every month starting in from 10 AM – 4 PM for our Quilts of Valor Sit & Sew! Come together with fellow quilters to create beautiful quilts that honor and comfort veterans and service members. Whether you're piecing, quilting, or binding, your work will contribute to a meaningful cause.  Bring your machine & essential notions, everthing else is provided.

 

 

Sit & Sew

Join us for a Sit & Sew session, where creativity and community come together! This is the perfect opportunity to bring your projects, enjoy uninterrupted sewing time, and share inspiration with fellow enthusiasts. Whether you're piecing together a quilt, finishing a garment, or just starting a new project, our welcoming space is designed to fuel your passion for sewing.

 

Ruler Quilting on a Domestic Machine

5 & 6 June

Unlock the art of precision quilting with our Ruler Quilting on a Domestic Sewing Machine class! Taught by experienced quilter Betty Briscall, this two day class will guide you through the fundamentals of using rulers to create stunning, professional-looking designs—all on your home sewing machine.

 

 

 

Scrappy Quilting for Kids

(Ages 10-14) 10, 12, 24, & 26 June

Let your child's creativity shine this summer with Scrappy Quilting for Kids! In this fun and engaging four-session class, students will learn the basics of quilting while creating their very own lap-sized scrappy quilt using a colorful mix of fabrics. Designed for beginners and taught by Regi Kovaleski, this hands-on course will guide young quilters through fabric layout, piecing, and finishing techniques in a safe and supportive environment.

 Elsie May by Villa Rosa Designs

13 June 

Create a stunning quilt with vintage flair in our Elsie May (by Villa Rosa Designs) Quilt class, featuring the beautiful and beginner-friendly pattern by Villa Rosa Designs. This is a great class for beginners, it has a beautiful wave pattern that will look wonderful with any mixture of fabrics. This quick and satisfying project uses a mix of squares and rectangles to highlight your favorite prints, making it ideal for precuts or fabric from your stash.

 

English Paper Piecing

Discover the art of English Paper Piecing (EPP) in this hands-on class led by Wendy Thibodeau. EPP is a timeless hand quilting technique that involves sewing fabric pieces together using paper templates, resulting in precise, intricate designs. Best of all, it's a travel-friendly craft—perfect for taking your creativity on the go!

 

Beginning Embroidery for Machine Embroiderers 

19 June

Ready to dive into the exciting world of Machine Embroidery? This beginner-friendly class is perfect for those just getting started! You'll learn the essential basics of machine embroidery, including how to hoop, stabilize, and select designs. By the end of the class, you'll work on a small embroidery take home project and leave with the skills — and confidence — to start stitching on your own!

Zippy Clutch Bag

27 & 28 June

These are fun bags to design and sew, and they
are simple enough that you may decide to
make several to match your spring and summer
outfits!!  The bag is beginner friendly for those who are confident with their machine. It has a front zippered pocket, large enough to carry most cell phones, and a top zippered closure. The bag has elegant looking rounded corners and opens wide

 

 


Congratulations to Carol and Ray Mahar on opening their Quilt Retreat House, located in Kingsport, TN.

Cliffside Cottage is a beautiful place for quilters, and crafters alike, to get away and enjoy their art with friends! The spacious 4 bedroom and 4 bathroom house is almost entirely one floor and makes it perfect for all quilters. The sewing room is full of large windows letting in the perfect amount of natural light. Cliffside Cottage is also equipped with a large kitchen, fully stocked with equipment, appliances, two stoves, two refrigerators, and plenty of storage for anything you bring! The large dining area accommodates all guests so that meals can be enjoyed together.  Additionally, the location is central to many grocery stores, restaurants, and the highway. This location is perfect for travelers from all over!
